He was a Russian Empire general and military historian from an old noble family. This history of the Patriotic War of 1812 is incredibly detailed. Boutourlin viewed Alexander I as the true saviour of Russia. In the original French, as many of Boutourlin"s works were. A very scarce work. In uniform, contemporary speckled calf bindings. Externally, smart with shelf wear to the joints and to the extremities. Light marks to the spines and to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Occasional scattered spots to pages.
