Written by Frances Ridley Havergal, a religious poet and hymn writer, sometimes writing for children, as well as writing religious tracts and melodies. She is best known for her hymns 'Take My Life and Let it Be', and 'Thy Life for Me&apos. Illustrated by Helga von Cramm, a German and Swiss painter and illustrator. Collated, complete. Additional leaf bound between the half-title and frontispiece, 'Alice E. Cursons, with best wishes for many happy Birthdays from her sincere friend John G. Freeman. 12th December 1882&apos. In a full morocco binding. Externally, smart. Internally, binding is a little strained in places. Pages are bright and generally clean with the odd spot, mostly to the first and last few pages.
