A children's work looking at country life, discussing the occupations and employments available within the country, in farms, agricultural life, and rural industry. This copy is variant one as states by the British Library on Jisc. This variant has 'Printed by J. C. Adlard, 23, Bartholomew Close' on page seventy-two. Illustrated with seventeen plates. Written by Mary Elliott. Collated, incomplete as lacking one plate. Collated from Jisc from a copy held at the British Library. In a quarter crushed morocco binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart. A little bumping and rubbing to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Light discolouration and rubbing to the spine. Minor rubbing to the boards. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned with the odd spot. Plates facing pages 10, 32, 38 have been repaired and rebound in, with a little loss to the title. Plates facing pages 29 and 60 may detach with further handling. Plates facing pages 52 and 70 has been repaired to the reverse. Good . Ill.: Not Stated. Good .
