With erratic pagination, though the register is continuous. Eee3 and Eee2 are misbound with Eee3 bound before Eee2. The errata slip is tipped in to the start of the work. Thomas Gale was a classical scholar, antiquarian and cleric. He is best known for this look at English history. In a contemporary full calf binding. Rebacked with the original boards preserved. Externally, sound with patches of rubbing to the boards and to the extremities. Front hinge is tender and held by one cord only. With the Bookplate of the Earl of Craysfort to the front pastedown dated 1894. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with just the occasional scattered spots. Small closed tear to page 211.
