The British Library and Oxford University hold copies dated 1802, following this the next imprint is this 1814. The colophon to this work is dated 1815 as called for. Illustrated, with a frontispiece and one plate. Collated, complete. To the preface it is noted that the recipes to this work are 'not carelessly copied from other similar work, but is really the fruit of twelve Years of valuable Experience, as Housekeeper in very respectable families, and Twenty Years of diligent practice, as a Confectioner and Instructor of Young Persons in this necessary domestic knowledge, in Sheffield; - the Author humbly hopes.' A very smart copy of this work, which provides a good insight into nineteenth century household expectations. In a quarter morocco binding with paper covered boards. Externally, excellent with minor shelfwear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Spotting to the frontispiece and title page. Spotting to the plate, as is usual.
