A Cavalier, he wrote over 2,500 poems. Most of these are found in his large poetry collection, 'Hesperides&apos. 'Hesperides' fills volumes I-III of this set. Volume IV contains his 'Noble Numbers and Additional Poems&apos. 'Hesperides' earned Robert Herrick his reputation and is regarded as his magnum opus. It falls in the 'Carpe Diem Genre' of poetry and this poem revived the genre. In the original paper vellum boards and held in the original slipcase. Externally, generally smart. Boards remain bright with just a few light marks and spots to boards and spines. Slipcase is smart with just some minor shelfwear to the edges. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound.
