With the previous owner bookplate to the front endpaper of each volume. This work is a interesting work of British legal history. Volume I discusses 'The Trail of Thomas Earl of Strafford' and volume II discusses 'The Trial Concerning The Case of The Royal Hospital For Seamen At Greenwich in relation To the Alleged Mismanagement and Abuses Thereof: And of Captain Thomas Ballie Lieutenant Governor of The Said Hospital Under A prosecution For Libel.' In a half paper vellum binding. Externally heavily rubbed to the head and tail of the spine and also to the extremities. Age toning to the paper vellum. Small tide marks to both spines. The odd mark and rubbing mark to the front and rear boards. Ink inscription to the front pastedown of each volume. A small patch of worming to the front pastedown of volume I, with the odd very small worm holes to the first dew pages. Bookplate to the front endpaper of each volume. Internally firmly bound.
