Collated, incomplete, as lacking one plate, 'Sports of the Period&apos. Written by Walter Besant. Besant was a novelist and historian, who often used his novels to try and arouse the public sympathies to the hardships of the poorer classes in ciites. He wrote much about the history and topography of London, such as 'East London', 'Medieval London', 'Shoreditch and the East End', and more. In the original publisher's pebbled cloth binding.
