A travel work by Hippolyte Durand, exploring the South of Germany. Following the Danube, the work discusses the Black Forest, Reviere, Austria, Bohemia, Gelding, Istria, Veneto and Tyrol. Hippolyte Durand was a French architect noted from building and restoring many churches in his home country of France. Illustrated with 31 plates. No collation available, but appears to be complete. In a quarter calf binding, with cloth covered boards. Externally rubbed to the head and tail of the spine. Label to the tail of the spine. Light rubbing to the spine joints and extremities. The front and rear hinges are lightly strained. The rear endpaper is torn, with loss to the head. Torn section is attached to the rear pastedown. Internally generally firmly bound.
