An interesting biography looking at the life, regency, and reign of George IV. George was the son of George III, and acted as his regent whilst he suffered from mental health problems, making him unable to rule. George had the reputation for being selfish with an extravagant lifestyle. Written by William Cobbett. Cobbett was a journalist, member of parliament, and pamphleteer, who worked to try and end poverty for farm laborers. He is best known for his work 'Rural Rides&apos. In the original half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, front joint is starting but firm. Spine is lightly discoloured, with some light surface cracks. A little loss to the head and tail of the spine, heavier to the head. A little loss to the spine label. Minor rubbing to the boards. Light loss to the leather to the extremities. Front hinge is starting close to the textblock but remains firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with only the odd scattered spot, heavier to the first and last few pages. Good .
