His reign was fraught with controversy in regards to his religious stance, which resulted in friction between parliament and the monarchy, and his eventual deposition. The work features a introductory chapter to which is added a appendix. In a full straight-grained morocco binding. Externally generally smart. Light rubbing to the head and tail of the spine, to the joint and extremities. Indentations to the leather of the rear board. Light offsetting and spotting to the front and rear endpapers. Rear pastedown has a small amount of loss to the extremities, and is beginning to lift from the rear board. Evidence of worming to the rear endpaper and rear blank, towards the fore edge.
