Sigismond Jaccoud went to Paris to study medicine in 1849, teaching and giving lectures at various hospitals in Paris, including L'Hopital Saint-Antoine, l'Hopital de la Charitie', l'Hopital Lariboisiere, and l'Hopital de la Pitie-Salpetriere. With eleven plates. Bookplate to the front pastedown, belonging to John James Pringle. This could be the Scottish dermatologist, who worked in Middlesex Hospital in London. In a signed binding by Maclaren & Macniven, Edinburgh. Collated, complete. In the original half calf binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Minor loss of leather to the head of the joints, being heavier to the rear joint. Rubbing to the head and tail of the spine, to the raised bands, and to the extremities. Light marking to the boards and to the spine, with a larger mark to the cloth to the rear board. Rear hinge starting but firm. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Binder's stamp to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, with the odd spot and mark, spotting being mostly to the first and last few pages. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
