Both volumes are first edition, limited edition and signed. Part one and two of Ronald Duncan's poetical work 'Man&apos. Both volumes are limited edition, and are signed by the author. Part one is number 133 of 150. Part two is number 140 of 150. Both volumes are in the original unclipped dustwrapper. 'Man' is a five part poetical work that explore scientific theories and the relationship between science and literature, of which this set includes the first two volumes. Written by the poet and playwright Ronald Duncan. Among his best known works include the poem 'The Horse' and his contribution to the libretto for Benjamin Britten's opera 'The Rape of Lucretia&apos. The overall intention of this piece can be summarised in the works introduction, in which Duncan states that this work may serve 'if not as a bridge between poetry and science, at least as a plank over the abyss which not yawns between them.' Both volumes are bound in a full cloth binding and held in the original unclipped dustwrappers. Externally, excellent. Light rubbing to the head and tail of the spine, and also to the extremities. Both dustwrappers are very smart. Very light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Light rubbing to the front and rear joints, with rubbing to the front and rear of the wrap and the fly leaf joints. Very light rubbing internal to the wrap on part one. Internally firmly bound.
