This play is divided into three acts, with an epilogue; Part I. The Five Sisters, 1240 - 1256 Part II. The Siege of York, 1637 - 1644 Part III. The Air Raid, 1917 The play was original produced at the Theatre Royal, York, in July 1921. Written by Lady Florence Bell, a British writer, playwright, and social reformer. Due to her family's prosperous careers, she came to know the about the life of poor workers in Yorkshire. She also wrote 'French Without Tears' and 'At the Works: Study of a Manufacturing Town&apos. In the original publisher's paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart. Some light marking to the boards, mostly to the front board, with some discolouration to the boards and to the spine. Slight loss to the head and tail of the spine. Light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Some small markings to the front pastedown and to the recto to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with just the very odd handling mark. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
