Gordon Home was an English landscape artist, writer and illustrator, mainly working in watercolour and pen and ink. Home worked for several years as an art editor at The Tatler, The King and later at the publishing house A & C Black with whom this book is published. Whilst Home was born in London, this book demonstrates his love of Yorkshire and depicts a variety of the coast and moorland scenes in the county, with accompanying text also written by Home. In a green cloth binding with gilt detail. Externally very smart with slight bumping to the extremities and the head and tail of the spine. A few light marks to the boards. Spine is slightly faded. Front hinge is slightly strained but firm. Slight offsetting to endpapers. Ink signature of 'John G. Brennand' to front free endpaper. Internally generally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with marginal age toning and the odd spot, heavier to the first and last few pages. Very Good . Ill.: Gordon Home. Very Good .
