Author: Francis Bond Head Title: A Faggot of French Sticks

A two volume set of Francis Bond Head's notes on his time staying in Paris, during which he desired to experience Paris as a true Parisian, rather than a tourist. Complete in two volumes. In 1851 Francis Bond Head spent a few months in Paris. During his stay, he avoided the recommendations he had received from acquaintances of things to do in the city, and decided instead on entertaining himself as a true Parisian. He never went to the theatre, and only when into a cafe once, as well as avoiding receiving or paying visits. In these two volumes, Head notes the life of the poor in Paris, various streets and gardens, the railway, the post-office, his lodgings, washing-boats, and prisons.
