This book looks at various almshouses, including ones in Canterbury, Northampton, Warwick, Coventry, Lichfield, Croydon, Bristol, Wells, Hereford, Taunton, and Durham. Sidney Heath was a landscape artists and an authority on British topography and architecture. He is known for his drawings of old buildings, and published and illustrated many books during his life. Some of these books include 'Our Homeland Churches', 'The Parts of a Manor House', 'Our Homeland Cathedrals', 'The Heart of Wessex', and 'Pilgrim Life in the Middle Ages&apos. With forty-nine plates, seven in-text illustrations, a plan, and three folding plates of plans. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding, with paper to the boards. Externally, smart. A couple of small light marks to the boards. Very light sunning to the head of the rear board. A little rubbing to the cloth to the boards and to the spine, causing a little discolouration, due to the light colour of the cloth. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Light offsetting to the pastedowns. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with the odd handling mark, and the odd spot to the first and last few pages. Very Good Indeed . Ill.: Sidney Heath. Very Good Indeed .
