Description: Oldham Express Office, 1887 to 1889. Three volumes complete. Original cloth. A unique set with blank leaves bound in at the end of each volume to which are added numerous notes and newspaper cuttings. Also newspaper cuttings and other items loosely inserted. Two of the volumes carry the signature of Wm Booth who is listed as one of the contributors, so thse additions may well be by him. Bindings a bit rubbed and with wrinkled spines. Some browning and "stretching" caused by the insertions, but an interesting set. A mine of information and according to a pencil note at the front only 200 copies were printed. See Albert Sutton's Bibliotheca Lancastrensis where he states "only 200 copies were printed, all of which were subscribed for previous to publication. A perfect set is of rare occurrence."
