Boards edge-worn but remain mostly clean and bright. Decorated spine rubbed pretty badly, but gilt titles and decorations (gilt and black) still somewhat decent. Book is mostly disbound, some tattered edges, small tears, 2 or 3 sigs with nibbled pages, etc. All pages present, brown end-papers (front hinge split, rear hinge intact). A couple of bookshop stamps on front paste-down, one, it appears, contemporary with the book's original sale (Williams Book Store, Minneapolis - measuring 1 x 1 1/2 cm). Fair.
