Book itself nice enough, but dj badly torn, tape repaired, etc. Book's only flaw is signs of moisture lower corner of back board both inside and outside, but hidden beneath dj - o/w book would be VG+ to Near Fine. Previous owner's signature near top edge of ffep - well-known University of Minnesota surgeon Richard C. Lillehei. DJ is acceptable only and pretty much as is with light staining to back panel + front panel two tears running from top edge to bottom edge (taped both front and back sides of dj) + shorter tears at folds, some edge tattering, small spine scrapes & spine background color faded from brown to tan (type still easily legible). Numerous photos and engravings. Extensive Bibliography, Name Index, Subject Index. Very Good/Fair.
