Title: Hobbing Data - Case Histories of Field Performance
Description: Rockford, Illinois, Barber-Colman Company, circa 1948. 1948. Hardcover . Not "cloth over boards" kind of a hardback, but I didn't want to choose ABE's "softcover" option. Quarto, appx 9 1/2 x 11 1/2 inches, very thick, stiff, flexible covers around a 22-ring snap binder (The Heinn Clipper Binder). Covers are textured-finish brick red, embossed and stamped in yellow-ochre, VG+ condition. Contents in Fine condition - 78 insert sheets (156 pages), printed in 2-colors f&b, photo-illustrated and containing technical data on individual machines with specific job record commentary, technical production/performance data & results (each sheet as f&b (2-pages), complete unto itself). A lot of close-up photography of machines and machine-operators + vignette illustrations implying end results/end uses (WWII tanks & airplanes, trucks, tractors, agricultural equipment, automobiles, tractor-crawlers, boat motors, film projectors, clocks, calculators, well-heads, milling machines, shafts, transmissins, etc.). Seems to have been a salesman's selling device or customer copy of same. The spine reads: Barber Colman Company, Vol. II. Very Good.
