Description: J.B. Lippincott, 1972. 1972. Hardcover . Pretty okay reading copy that looks like a BCE. Hardback, octavo, appx 5 3/4 x 8 1/4 inches, gilt spine titling on purplish paper-covered boards, 264 pages, G+/no dj. Tight binding w/ hinges intact. Boards not too bad but spine sunned to a grayish tone (gilt titling seems not affected but it reads fine only at the right couple of angles). Black marker streak across top & bottom edges of text block. Doesn t have typical library signs (no stamps, numbers, card pocket) but maybe an ex-lending library since rear free endpaper has a brown streak like a glue stain that my have held a name/date due slip + top corner ffep brown paper sticker remnant (1/2 x 1 inch). Half-title, title and text pages also pretty okay w/ (given a look-through) only one small stain in a lower margin area & a few tiny pen squiggles marked by the reader where the reading left off (most were in pencil and have been erased). Also the first 2 or 3 dozen pages show bleed-in from the black marker streaks across top & bottom edges w/ a tiny dot at the top edge of each page through p. 23 and likewise at the bottom edge of each page through p. 39. Good.
