The author is Laurie Magnus, Jewish-British author and journalist (1872-1933). In this book he opposes Zionism and promotes the cause of Jewish progress and reform. In reply Israel Cohen (1878-1961) wrote "Zionism and Jewish Ideals, A reply to Mr. Laurie Magnus", in 1909.
