Description: London: Printed for Bernard Lintot..., 1722. 2 volumes. 12mo, 164 x 93 mms., pp. 288, 279 [280 - 286 indexes], title-pages in red and black, engraved portrait of Pope as frontispiece in volume 1, contemporary calf, red leather labels, engraved armorial bookplate on the front paste-down end-paper of each volume without name; joints a little tender, spines dried. It was in the first publication of this anthology in 1712 that Pope sent out the two-canto version of The Rape of the Lock, before it was separately published in 1712 and again in 1714 in five cantos.
