Description: Glasgow: John Bryce and Son, [no date]. [c. 1893]. 32mo, 32 x 18 mms., pp. 348, engraved portrait of Johnson as frontispiece, bound in publisher's red leather, with "Bryce's English Dictionary" on front cover and (vertically) "Pears" on the rear cover, contained in a plain metal case, lacking the magnifying glass that acts as circular window, and the circular mounting is loose, but present. Bryce published six of these miniatures in the 1890s, all contained in a metal box or boxes.
