Description: Edinburgh: Printed for Thos. Lumisden and Company..., 1756. Small 8vo, pp. viii, 238, contemporary sheepskin; lower margins closely trimmed with slight loss to portions of two letters to date in imprint, catchwords occasionally affected, text slightly browned and fingered, binding a bit dried and worn. Provenance: "Rebekah/ Crane's Book/ May 28 1801" on recto of front free end-paper. Welwood's work was first published in Edinburgh in 1721, reprinted in 1728, 1734, 1744, 1756, 1763, 1797, and 1799 in the 18th century. The work continued to be printed well into the 19th century. All editions are uncommon, the most frequently-located being that of 1744, with nine ESTC locations. ESTC T171293 locates two copies of the above 1756 printing: E, MH.
