Description: Lugduni Apud Gulielmum Rouillium, sub Scuto Veneto, Excudebat Philibertus Rolletius. 1553 Small 8vo, 116 x 66 mms., pp. 757 [758 - 763 Index, 764 colophon], later 17th century calf, spine ornately gilt in compartments, all edges gilt; top and base of spine defective, spine dried, but a good copy with the book label of C. Lacy Hulbert-Powell on the front paste-down end-paper and the autograph "S Alderson" (probably 18th century) on the title-page Added for the studious use of the same author are Paraphrases on some Psalms, each in its own order and place: Likewise, Paraphrases on thirty Psalms, written in verse by the same author, and placed in their own place, have been added. Marcantonio Flaminio (1497/98 – 550), also known as Marcus Antonius Flaminius, was an Italian humanist poet, known for his Neo-Latin works. The present books is a Flaminio's commentary on the Psalms, and "for the studious use of the same author" are additionlal psalms.
