The engraved frontispiece illustrates a black slave kneeling and raising his hands to a female figure of justice. Jackson 729A. First published in 1808; it was further reprinted in 1825 and 1833. Library Hub locates only one copy of this second edition from 1811: the British Library's copy. In 1931, Gumuchian had a copy of this second edition from 1811, and, cataloguing it as a "fine copy", priced it at 00 francs (Gumuchian, Les livres de l'enfance du XVe au XIXe siècle (1931), item no. 4997, p. 361).
