FIRST AND ONLY EDITION. 4to, 273 x 212 mms., pp. [iv], [iii] - xv [xvi blank], xx, 214 [215 Errata. 216 blank], 13 engraved plates, followed by another of errata, contemporary calf (rubbed and worn), crudely rebacked with canvas, affecting inner margin of title-page and following leaf. The Irish author and portrait painter William Thomson (1730 - 117988), also "Blarney Thomson," was trained as an artist in London. A memoir of his life by W.W. Dakins, dated May 1799, was added to his book which was evidently published in that year.
