Description: London Printed for S. Bladon..., 1792 FIRST AND ONLY EDITION. Large 12mo, 178 x 100 mms., pp. [viii], 400, interleaved with blanks leaves for ms. notes, contemporary calf, gilt border on covers; front joint cracked and tender, binding a bit worn. According to the notice in The European Magazine and Monthly Review for 1792, "This a bungling abridgement or, rather mutilation, of the Biographica Dramatica, published in 1782 and purloined without the slightest acknowledgement or mention of the work from which it is stolen. Pilferers like the present compiler act with as much honest, though not with the same address as their brethren, the stealers of horses...." Ouch.
