Stories written between 1909 and 1913, mostly war stories or humour, some set in South Africa. "Full Back" is an imaginary war story with slightly advanced technology; "The Sense of Touch" is a horror story about advanced motion picture technology. During World War I Sir Ernest Dunlop Swinton (1868-1951), a Royal Engineer, advocated the use of caterpillar tractors for trench-crossing, developed the idea of tanks, and commanded the tank training force.
