This book was put out by the National Toothpick Holders Assoc. and covers all kinds of holders made of China, Glass and Metal. Toothpicks were around in the time of Neanderthals, however it was in the 16th and 17th centuries that the became a table item and hence the need for holders. The first toothpick-manufacturing machine was developed in 1869, another was patented in 1872, by Silas Noble and J. P. Cooley. Toothpick holders went from simple box or packet they came into to elaborate glass with silver holders. This book covers them all. B&W ads and some photos, Mainly all colored photos, with price guide, Bibliography, index, 140 pages. Good.
