He was a favorite of President Linclon and before he presented " The Emancipation Proclamation" to the Cabinet, he read to them the latest episode of Wards "Outrage in Utky". He is also said to have a strong influence on Mark Twain dating from the time Ward performed in Virginia City where Twain was working for the newspaper. B&W illustrations, bibliography. Good.
