Handsomely bound in finely woven black cloth and stamped brightly in gilt on the spine, this copy is clean and tight throughout and illustrated with numerous full-page plates from photographs, 48 plates total. There are two short stress indentations on the front boards. In a complete dust jacket with the original price of $4.00 at the bottom of the inside front flap. The jacket has some slight chipping at the top of the spine ends and the merest touch of wear to the bottom of the spine and the corners. There is a small stain at the bottom edge of the front flap. The jacket also has its original glassine protector. Scarce in jacket and the original glassine. In this book you will find all a well informed man need know about America's chief contribution to the arts. A dozen years of research and study have gone into it, yet in its making the dusty records have been thrown aside, and the story told with vivid freshness, stripped of every technicality." .
