Charles Montagu Doughty (1843-1926), was an English poet, writer and traveller. He travelled in the Middle East living with the Bedouin during the 1870s. In the Introduction T.E. Lawrence states, 'I have studied it for ten years, and have grown to consider it a book not like other books, but something particular, a bible of its kind.'.
