His 14 annual reports, 'On the Noxious, Beneficial and Other Insects, of The State Of New York' published in the Transactions of the New York State Agricultural Society, were highly regarded and became standard reading for entomologists and agriculturists worldwide. The reports, were the first series of this kind published in the United States, and became models for later entomologists (Jeffrey K.
