Both volumes have light rubbing/bumping to boards. DJ is a plain, rich brown of heavy, coated paper with gold lettering on spine; light shelf wear/rubbing. Covers are rich dark brown with bright gold crest and lettering on fronts and spine. Gilt edged top of text block, slightly rubbed. Pages are clean and tight, appears as if unused. Each volume has a stitched in red ribbon book mark. Volume I has a bound in, folded royal family tree of Scottish Rulers from 11th century to 1901. Volume II has a bound in folded color map of scotland at rear of book. Each book illustrated with 20+ b/w, photogravures, each with a protective tissue and an index for that volume. This was a wonderful travel guide and history for any visitor to Scotland 100 years ago, and a wonderful example of a tourist 'blast from the past'.. Near Fine in Very Good dust jacket .
