Pages are clean and tight; pages appear almost as if unused; wear only on the covers. This comes from the private library of a former university professor. The Faraday Society was a British society for the study of chemistry (The science of matter; the branch of the natural sciences dealing with the composition of substances and their properties and reactions). Founded in 1903 and named in honor of Michael Faraday (The English physicist and chemist who discovered electromagnetic induction (1791-1867). It merged with several similar organizations in 1972 to form the Royal Society of Chemistry, a learned society in the United Kingdom) . The society published their transactions from 1905-1971. Extensively illustrated with charts, tables, graphs, formulae, equations and 6 b/w photographs/figures. "A General Discussion on the Physical Chemistry of Dyeing and Tanning was held in the Department of Chemistry, Leeds University...on 8th-10th September, 1953. The President, Prof. Sir Hugh Taylor...was in the Chair and about 154 members and visitors were present...." There are 22 essays presented; two sections on general discussion; author index; reviews of books.
