For all horse, and especially dressage, lovers, this is a wonderful book. It begins with his purchase at the Westphalian auction in 1975, and follows his training, year by year, from 4 year old gelding, to individual and team gold winner at the 1984 summer Olympics in Los Angeles [Looking for an extra treat? --watch the video, of Klimke's victory lap on Ahlerich, on line]. Pages are clean and tight, book is illustrated with many b/w and color photographs. Ahlerich [1971-1992] went on to win a 2d team Olympic gold, with Dr. Klimke, in 1988 at Seoul. The legendary Reiner Klimke ( 1936 – 1999) was a renowned German equestrian, who won 6 gold and 2 bronze medals in dressage at the Summer Olympics — a record for equestrian events. He competed in six Olympics from 1960 to 1988, excluding the noycotted 1980 Games.. Very Good- in Very Good- dust jacket .
