Description: Winnipeg, Manitoba: Blue Ribbon Limited, 1936. Fifteenth Edition. Hardcover. "It is our sincere wish that this new and revised edition of the Blue Ribbon Cook Book may be of assistance to the women of Canada. Neither time nor expense has been spared to make it comprehensive and up-to-date. The recipes have all been tried and tested, and have been chosen with a view to the various requirements of Canadian [depression-era] households." - Foreword. Elizabeth Driver provides a detailed description of this fifteenth edition at M7.8 of her "Culinary Landmarks". She explains that, although the copyright page states a date of 1905, the actual printing date was circa 1936. All coupons present. Six pages of nice colour ads for Blue Ribbon products at back. Over 144 pages. Few pencilled notes inside back board and on ruled blank leaf at back. Small bit of faint writing inside front board. Front hinge just starting, otherwise binding intact. Above-average wear and soiling, as expected for a multi-generationally trusted family cookbook. A worthy example this wonderful artifact of Canadian cookery history.; 16mo. Fair .
