The book offers an abundant photographic documentation of the social activities organized by FIAT for the professional training of the workers, including the professional school, the 'dopolavoro' (a sort of after-work hangout), the sport activities, the summer camps etc. The book also puts forward the contribution by the 'Officine torinesi' to the arms industry, in perfect agreement with the fascist regime and its German allies. In this regard, the picture showing the Hitler Youth visiting the Fiat factory and facilities as well as the bilingual text, is very significant. Possibly, this volume shared the same destiny with many other 'more-than-fascist' works, which became an embarrassment and were made disappear after WWII; in addition, the outcomes of the war, per se, did not facilitate the conservation of the book. Not even one copy was present on the book market in the last thirty years at least, and just one single copy can be found in the whole Italian libraries network. Some scratches at the upper white margins of the last pages, one of which is mended. Generally, a very good copy, also considering the absolute rarity of this work. Nelle ultime pagg. spellature al marg. sup. bianco con mende in una carta ma complessivamente buon es. considerata anche l'assoluta rarità di questa opera. Testo in italiano ed in tedesco. Ricca documentazione fotografica delle attività sociali della Fiat per la formazione e l'assistenza degli operai, le scuole professionali, il dopolavoro, le attività sportive, le colonie estive. L'opera mette in evidenza il contributo delle Officine torinesi all'industria bellica, in perfetta sintonia con il Regime ed il fronte bellico italo-tedesco; significativa le foto della 'gioventù hitleriana in visita ai reparti specializzati Fiat' e la traduzione a fronte proprio in lingua tedesca. Probabilmente questo volume ha seguito le sorti delle tante opere 'fascistissime', divenute imbarazzanti e fatte sparire con il vento nuovo del dopoguerra; inoltre le vicende belliche hanno provveduto di per se a non facilitarne l conservazione. Non risulta presente nel mercato librario almeno degli ultimi trent'anni e soltanto un esemplare è censito nelle biblioteche pubbliche italiane.
