MOLLER (Daniel-Wilhelm), German scholar, born at Presbourg, on May 26, 1642, died in Altorf, on February 25, 1712. Son of a jeweller, it studied in Wittemberg, was accepted Master of arts in 1662, traversed Holland, England, Poland and Prussia, and went to follow into 1664 the courses of theology to Strasbourg. He visited then Switzerland, France and Italy. Of return to Presbourg in 1670, it was named there vice chancellor with the gymnasium; envoyed the following year in Vienna by the Protestants, its co-religionists, to claim there near the emperor against vexations of the authorities, not only it does not succeed in his mission, but it was seen forced to leave Austria. It was fixed at Altorf, where it obtained into 1674 the chair of history of metaphysics. It received by Léopold emperor the dignity of Count Palatine.
