Publisher's original forest-green pebble cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine, sm 4to. Volume I: Physical Geology, Surface Geology, General Geology, County and Regional Geology; Volume II: Regional Geology, Mineralogy, Lithology and Chemistry. Both volumes are inscribed to: Prof. O. C. Marsh with the regards of C. A. White. Bookplate of Peabody Museum, Yale University, signed: Presented by Prof. O. C. Marsh, 1899. Another inscription reads: ""Given to me by Professor Schuchert on July 24, 1936 on July 24, 1936, (signed) A. K. Miller. This volume is from the research library of paleontologist Arthur K. Miller. Small pocket on rear endpaper of each volume but there are no library stamps, call numbers or any other ownership marks. This set was never accessioned into the Peabody Museum Library. Light wear to cloth at the top of the spine of each volume but no signs of use; a bright and clean copy in near fine condition..
