First edition, first issue with "Bouverie St" on the illustrated title page and the farmyard frontispiece, 8vo.,pp. xxxix,1112, contemporary half calf with marbled paper covered boards, gilt lettering to spine, speckled edges, 12 colour plates, b/w figures; occasional foxing, mostly light, light staining to margins of title and frontipiece, frontispiece’s outer margin slightly shaved, small pen mark to front free endpaper, slight surface soiling to edges, light crack to leather along centre of spine professionally repaired, light wear to marbled paper covering, a very good copy.
