Description: Windhund [windhound] lithograph in Jugendstil / Art Nouveau style by made Leo Rauth. Signed and dated in the print 1911. With original template colouring. Size: (paper) 38 x 38 cm. The ideal woman in the years before WWI was tall, with a slender waist but full hips and bosom, wavy hair, and who was fashionable and confident. Dresses had flowing lines, a train and a high waist. Women wore huge hats trimmed with large beautiful feathers and wide ribbons. Art Nouveau style had a significant impact on fashion, with its flowing lines, organic motifs, and delicate embellishments. Painter and graphic artist Leo Rauth (1884-1913) was a student at the art academies of Leipzig, Karlsruhe, Berlin, and Munich (under Franz von Stuck), and worked in Leipzig from 1909 onwards. Rauth painted portraits, nudes, carnival scenes, designed stage sets ("Les petits riens"), posters, and applied graphics. Price: Euro 1.450,- (including frame).
