Author: Anselm Ritter von Feuerbach Title: Kaspar Hauser. Voorbeeld eener misdaad gepleegd tegen de geestvermogens of het zieleleven eens menschen
Description: Amsterdam 1832 HB 122 pages with portrait fragile. New bound in nice half-leather binding. Anselm von Feuerbach, the Bavarian legal scholar who coined the famous maxim that there can be no crime without a law that has previously declared it to be a crime (“nullum crimen sine praevia legi poenali”) became greatly fascinated by the case of Kaspar Hauser, the young man of unknown origin, and dedicated all his talent and experience to solve that case, declaring a crime (“misdaad”) what certainly had not previously been declared a crime by law. The mysterious Kaspar Hauser ended his life through murder, just like, perhaps, Von Feuerbach himself, because of his involvement. (code N-40)
