Presumably a reworking of the popular Buckeye Cookery cookbook, written by Estelle Woods Wilcox. Wilcox graduated from college in 1870, giving a speech on women's suffrage, and published Buckeye Cookery in 1876, as a fundraiser for a church. The popularity of the cookbook grew and went through several editions. Wilcox established the magazine, the Housekeeper, that focused on aspects of managing a household, while also advocating for women to work outside their homes. This book focuses all aspects of preparing eggs and vegetables, as well as preserving a variety of items. A handwritten recipe written in the front of the book. GOOD condition. Heavy uneven fading to the covers, with heavy creasing, scuffing, spotting and staining. Some soiling and edgewear. Small piece of the wrapper missing from the lower spine. Heavy toning to the text block. Some staining to the endpapers from the covers. Good .
