LACKING any wraps and frontis illustration that were issued. 56 pp. Second issue of this magazine, featuring articles on Nahant in Massachusetts; a collection of anecdotes on the actions and participation of Allen McLane in the Revolutionary War, including extracts from his journal; a lengthy extract of an address by Daniel Webster; short foreign and domestic news, etc. Samuel L. Knapp edited the Boston Gazette in 1824, and established this and the National Republican in the mid 1820's. He was noted for biographical writings (Appleton's Cyclopedia of American Biography). GOOD+ condition. Moderate chipping and creasing along the fore edge, with a few minor tears. Some toning to the paper. Interior clean and solid. Good .
