First edition of this posthumously-published volume collecting the miscellaneous writings of the "father of Iowa State College," an Iowa pastor and educator (1850-1902) who served as president of Weston College (1881-88) and later of Iowa Agricultural College (which morphed into Iowa State University) from 1891 to 1902. Famed Iowa printer and bibliographer Luther Brewer (1853-1933) founded The Torch Press, which was also involved with Republican Printing Company; clearly he had a role in the publication of this tribute volume, for a copy of "A Boy Again" exists in which Brewer pens a note that only 40 copies were printed. .
