On the front flyleaf, the author signs huge and bold in blue ballpoint in the year of publication: "Russell Janney / Oct 11th 1946 / Washington D.C." Married up with a fourth state dust jacket. Janney (1884-1963) was a theatrical produced who penned a few titles. "Miracle of the Bells" was his first novel, which the jacket front panel describes as "a joyous novel about the four days when the church bells rang day and night in a small Pennsylvania town.
